Ground has been broken for the tenth Community Renewal International Friendship House. It's being built in the 2800 block of Frederick Street in Shreveport's Queensborough neighborhood. This will be the second Friendship House in Queensborough. The first opened five years ago with funding from the David Toms Foundation. This latest Friendship House is being funded by proceeds from ticket sales for the House for Hope. It's not too late to buy a ticket for this year's House for Hope drawing, which takes place on June 30th. A $100 ticket might win you a custom-built, four-bedroom house valued at $370,000. CRI also has two Friendship Houses each in the Allendale, Cedar Grove, Highland, and Barksdale Annex neighborhoods.
