Eagle Distributing of Shreveport, Budweiser and their customers recently teamed together to raise funds for the Folds of Honor Foundation benefiting dependents of military families.

Eagle Distributing and over twenty local businesses participated in helping to raise funds for the Folds of Honor Foundation by posting donor’s names on paper badges on the walls of their businesses.

The Folds of Honor organization was founded in 2007 by Major Dan Rooney to fill a need in providing post-secondary educational scholarships for families of U.S. Military personnel killed or disabled while serving their country. The Folds of Honor Foundation is rallying a nation to ensure no family gets left behind in the fight to preserve American freedom.

Again this season, Budweiser has teamed with Major League Baseball and Budweiser is donating $5,000.00 for every walk-off during baseball’s 2012 regular season. Additionally, Budweiser is donated a portion of all sales from May 20 – July 7, in an effort to raise as much as $2.5 million for Folds of Honor.

Local funds collected totaled $2,800.00. This could not have been possible without the great support of area bars and restaurants and the generous and patriotic citizens in North LA.

The Shreveport Elk’s Lodge #122 came in as the top contributor by raising $1,700.00. Large contributions were also collected in Bossier City at the VFW Post #5941, What’s on Tap II and Froggy Bottoms and in Minden at the Whistle Stop.
