The Jefferson ISD Police Department are currently investigating a female teacher, for what the school system is calling an "improper relationship", with a student. The school says the "relationship" was between a female teacher and a male student.

Though no arrests have been made at this time, and the teacher has not been identified, the Jefferson ISD has placed the teacher on paid leave while they conduct the investigation.  Jefferson ISD Superintendent Rob Barnwell released a statement that read:

“As a public-school district, the safety and well-being of our students remains our highest priority. We will continue to work closely with all agencies involved to assist with this investigation, and we will maintain communication with the appropriate people involved as this situation develops.

If anyone has information which may be deemed as helpful to us regarding this investigation, please feel free to contact my office”

The school system added that they immediately contacted the proper authorities, including Child Protective Services, as soon as they were informed of the situation.
