Felon With a Firearm Arrested Following Shreveport Traffic Stop
On September 24th, 2024, just after 1:00 a.m., Shreveport Police Department patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on a westbound vehicle on I-20 for operating an unregistered commercial vehicle. Officers identified 38-year-old Leonard Hunter as the driver.
Further investigation revealed that Hunter was in possession of a firearm, despite being prohibited from owning one due to a prior felony conviction. Officers seized the weapon and arrested Hunter for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The Shreveport Police Department continues its mission to keep firearms out of the hands of individuals who are legally prohibited from possessing them.
