Fatal Minden Crash Leads to Arrest for Vehicular Homicide
Louisiana State Troopers are investigating a car crash that happened yesterday in Minden that claimed the life of a woman.
Yesterday afternoon, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop G were called to the scene of a single-car crash on Highway 518 near Posey Lane. The car was being driven by 35 year-old Tiffany Conley of Bossier City. For reasons still under investigation the car left the roadway, hit an embankment, and flipped over on it's roof.
Conley, the driver, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for her injuries. Sadly, her passenger, 63 year-old Eva Hunt of Doyline sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
During LSP's investigation, they suspected Conley of being impaired at the time of the crash. Conley was arrested and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center for Vehicular Homicide. Standard toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
From LSP:
"Alcohol and drug impairment remain a contributing factor in nearly half of all fatal crashes in Louisiana. These substances severely impact your awareness, decision-making abilities, and reaction times, leading to devastating consequences on the road. Troopers wish to remind motorists of the importance of making good decisions while operating a motor vehicle.
Never drive while impaired, fatigued, or distracted, and obey all traffic laws. While not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions like these can mean the difference between life and death."
