Fall Weather Coming to Shreveport, But How Long Will It Last?
Fall is in full swing. The MLB playoffs are here. College Football is hitting its stride. People are decorating and getting ready for Halloween. Pumpkin Spice has taken over the world. We have everything fall related happening. There's only one thing missing: the weather.
We're in the middle of October and the temps are still touching 90! That's not fall like. I don't know about you, but I don't like eating chili or gumbo when it's that hot out. But, there is good news: Temps will be cooling down this week. That's the good news. The bad news: it's probably not going to stick around long.
Lows in the 40s in the Shreveport Area This Week
According to the Weather Channel, temps are going to drop starting Wednesday October 16th. Lows are projected to be in the mid-40s, highs are projected to be in the 70s. And I don't know about you, but I am here for it! Light breeze, cooler temps...it's going to be awesome.
However, you better enjoy the fall weather while it's here. Because according to the long term forecast, those temps aren't going to last very long.
The Fall Weather in Shreveport Will Be Brief
Here's the downside of all this. Yeah, we're going to get a few days of fall temps and weather, but it's going to be fleeting. According to long term forecasts, we're going to get 3 days of Fall weather (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday), then we are right back to where we were.
By this time next week, temps are expected to be back in to the high 80s with lows in the mid to high 60s. And that's projected to last until at least the end of the month.
So, if you want to cook up some gumbo or a have a bonfire outdoors, you better do it quickly. Because the fall experience isn't going to last very long.
