The exhibit curated by Chris King, visual arts instructor for LSMSA, and Larrie King, assistant professor of design at Northwestern State. The show will poke fun at the idea of 2012 being the end of the world, based on the ancient Mayan calendar, and is a component of GALLERY ONE EIIIEVEN's commitment to promoting arts education and Youth Art Month.

Many of the pieces featured in the exhibitionaddress emotional situations and reflections by the students, and theydisplay a large range of techniques and subject matter. A reception for thestudent artists will be held the evening of Saturday, March 17, during the Spring Artwalk in the Leesville Main Street District. Artwalk is an event held twice yearly in conjunction with GALLERY ONE EIIIEVEN, the Vernon Parish Tourism Commission and the Leesville Main Street Office. Artwalk features local and regional artists displaying their work in the streets, live music and the spring event focuses on youth art and arts education.
