Search for Elderly Shreveport Man Ends in Tragedy
An elderly Shreveport man has been found in an unfortunate tragedy.
Bobby Joe Smith had not been seen for some time when his family reported him missing. The family had several concerns because Smith had dementia as well as liver cancer that he needed daily medication for. A post was created for social media begging anyone who could have possibly seen him to come forward. The Louisiana State Police joined the search and both were having no luck.
On Friday afternoon SPD got a call to a house on Christopher Street. The owner of the home does not live in town, and came to Shreveport to check up on the property. When she entered the home, she saw Smith dead on the couch. Police did a short investigation and could find no signs of foul play. Smith likely wandered in to the home and died from complications involving his unmedicated health issues.
The family of Smith was devastated to hear the news of his tragic passing.
