SHREVEPORT, LA- Early Morning Stabbing Sends Woman to Jail
A Shreveport Police Department Domestic Violence Detective has made an arrest following a severe domestic violence incident that occurred around 2:00 a.m. this morning. Officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Illinois Street in response to reports of a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim with serious injuries to his back, neck, and arm. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries.
The victim informed officers that he and 27-year-old Quennisha Gandy were involved in a heated argument. When he attempted to leave the residence, Gandy allegedly stabbed him multiple times. The victim then fled on foot to nearby apartments to seek help.
Footage from the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) cameras corroborated the victim’s account, showing Gandy pursuing the victim with a knife in her hand. Due to the severity of the victim's injuries, Gandy was arrested at the scene. She has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail on charges of Domestic Abuse Battery with a Dangerous Weapon Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury and Domestic Abuse Battery under Child Endangerment Law.
