Shreveport police are looking for a suspect who shot a man in west Shreveport early this morning.

Just after 2:40 a.m., patrol officers were called to Willis Knighton Medical Center on Greenwood Road, where 19-year-old Anderuis Benton went in for treatment from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body.

Preliminary information revealed Benton and his friends were driving through the parking lot of Secrets in the 6900 block of Jewella Avenue, when an unknown suspect walked up to the vehicle and started shooting. Neither Benton nor the witnesses were able to give any details about the suspect.

Detectives are trying to identify and catch the alleged shooter. Anyone with information that could help is asked to call Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or submit a tip online.
