Domestic Shooting in Shreveport Leads to Arrest
SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport police arrest man involved in Domestic Shooting Incident on Oakdale Street
The Shreveport Police Department has made an arrest following an investigation of the shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of February 19th in the 1600 block of Oakdale Street.
At approximately 2:00 a.m., Shreveport Police Patrol officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where they are currently receiving medical care.
Subsequent to the initial response, detectives from the Shreveport Police Domestic Violence Unit were deployed to the scene to further investigate the incident. Through diligent efforts, detectives successfully identified and located the suspect involved in the shooting. The suspect has been identified as 46-year-old Shiron Reliford. Reliford was apprehended and taken into custody. He has been charged with the following offenses:
- Battery of a Dating Partner with a Dangerous Weapon Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury
- Battery of a Dating Partner 2nd Offense
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of Domestic Abuse Battery
- Battery of a Dating Partner
The Shreveport Police Department remains steadfast in its commitment to pursuing justice for victims of domestic violence and holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.
