Desosto Sheriff Net Multiple Narcotics Arrests

Desoto Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle and his deputies have been very busy over the past few weeks. Their office has put many offenders from the Logansport area behind bars on narcotics charges. Some of these stem from active investigations, others from traffic stops during their speed enforcement program.

Here is a rundown of the arrests, according to a press release from the Desoto Parish Sheriff's Office:

The following subjects have been arrested for various narcotics charges in the Logansport area.

David Smith (W/M – DOB: 02/04/1979) of the 100 block of Lula Street in Logansport – Charged with Distribution of Schedule II CDS and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Shantell Yvonne Carmadelle (W/F – DOB: 03/19/1985) of the 300 block of Pine Street in Logansport – Charged with Distribution of Schedule II CDS.

These arrests followed traffic stops conducted on Interstate 49 while working speed enforcement.

On September 17, 2016 at about 10:26 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding. Following the stop, deputies located narcotics and a firearm. Following the discovery the following driver was arrested:

Delanie Marquis Hall (B/M – DOB: 10/08/1990) of Benton, LA – Charged with Speeding, Possession of Schedule I – Marijuana 2nd Offense, Possession of a Firearm in Presence of CDS, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On September 17, 2016, at about 02:17 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding. Following the stop, deputies located narcotics in the vehicle. Following the discovery the following driver was arrested:

Salvador B. Cruz (W/M – DOB: 08/06/1993) of Houston, TX – Charged with Speeding, No Driver’s License, No Proof of Liability Insurance, and Possession of Schedule II – Cocaine

On September 17, 2016 at about 11:40 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding. Following the stop, deputies located numerous identities and credit and debit cards. Following the discovery and investigation, both the driver and passenger were arrested. They are identified as:

Markeisha Y. Orviss (B/F – DOB: 01/18/1991) of San Leandro, CA – Charged with Speeding, Driving Under Suspension, and False Accounting

Taylor Noel Lambright (B/F – DOB: 01/04/1997) of Oakland, LA – Charged with False Accounting
