If you were looking forward to the 13th Annual I-20 Challenge Golf Tournament this weekend...you have a little more time to get your practice in at the driving range. The event that was originally set for Saturday has been rescheduled. The new date is August 25th at Querbes Park Golf Course in Shreveport. Teams from Shreveport and Monroe will be competing for a trophy and bragging rights.

The entry fee is $45, and that includes the green fee, cart and lunch. Each team is made up of 24 golfers of various skill levels. Three two-man scramble teams each in each skill level contribute a point each to the overall team, and the team with the most winning scramble teams comes out the victor. The Monroe team won last year on its own turf...let's see if they can come out ahead on ours!  We've been told no team has won on the other's home course in the last seven years.

The deadline for entries is August 11th...so not much time left! To join the team, or for more info, call Shreveport Team Captain Frederick Lewis at 868-9302. You can also pick up an entry form at Querbes, Huntington or Jerry Brooks golf courses.
