Dallas Man visits Shreveport, But Will be Staying Longer
SHREVEPORT, LA- Dallas Man visits Shreveport and will be staying longer
On Saturday, September 7th, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Shreveport Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lane of the 300 block of Spring Street.
The driver, identified as 62-year-old Jeffrey Davis of Dallas, was found to be impaired.
During the stop, officers detected the smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle, prompting a further investigation. Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered a handgun along with methamphetamines.
As a result, Davis was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I narcotic, possession of a Schedule II narcotic, and illegal carrying of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance. Additionally, he faces charges for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and several traffic infractions.
The Shreveport Police Department wants to remind the community that driving while intoxicated is one of the leading causes of traffic fatalities in our city. Please remember, if you drink and drive, you lose.
