A video surfaced on social media showing a woman throwing a gun from the Cross Lake Bridge into the lake.

This drew attention from a treasure hunter from Outdoors Weekly who drove all the way from Florida to try to find the gun.

Bryce Nachtwey hired a boat to go out on the lake. He says police had already marked the area off with red tape and he spotted that area when he got out on the water. But he moved a bit further away from the bridge and after a few hours of searching and pulling up all kinds of items, he hit pay dirt. Bryce found the gun!!

Did Police Arrest the Suspect?

Shreveport officers had also searched for the gun, but had no luck. They went back out on the lake while Bryce was hunting and were there when the gun was recovered.

Investigators were able to identify the woman in the video as Alexis Mullone. Further investigation revealed that the firearm had been reported stolen out of Fort Worth, Texas.

Mullone later voluntarily appeared at the Shreveport Police Department to answer questions regarding the incident. During the interview, Mullone informed investigators that she had left her one-year-old child unattended in a vehicle outside the police station. The child was safely released into the care of family members.

What Charges Does the Suspect Face?

Mullone was arrested and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on the following charges:

· One count of Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm

· One count of Child Desertion

The Shreveport Police Department would like to extend its gratitude to Bryce and the Outdoors Weekly team for their extraordinary efforts and assistance in this case.
