Several days ago, I told you that Shreveport's Assistant Chief Administrative Officer and former Fire Chief was one of three finalists to become the next Fire Chief in Plano, Texas. Well, Brian Crawford is no longer a finalist. He got the gig! He starts his new job in Plano December 3rd. Crawford has worked for the City of Shreveport for the past 28 years -- starting as a fire fighter and working his way up to Fire Chief before being promoted to Assistant CAO in February of last year. In a statement issued by the Mayor's Office, Crawford says he's honored and humbled at being selected. He thanks The Mayor and CAO Dale Sibley for having confidence in him and giving him the chance to play a leadership role. He also thanks the men and women of the Shreveport Fire Department and the citizens of Shreveport.
