The planned start of a massive Covid vaccine drive-through operation at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds is being postponed until Tuesday because of the winter weather.

You will now be getting an appointment time for your vaccine.

A news release says:

Due to the number of individuals who have pre-registered to receive the vaccine, a date and time will be emailed instructing individuals when to arrive for their vaccine.  This will ensure minimal wait times.  Anyone who does not receive an email by 6pm tonight providing their vaccine appointment time has provided an incorrect email.  Those individuals will be notified by text before 6pm on Monday of their appointment time on January 13-15.

This vaccination clinic is ONLY for those age 70 and above.

Pre-registration is required and essential to minimizing wait time.  Everyone seeking to get the vaccine should 1) bring their ID and insurance information even though they are pre-registered, 2) wear a mask and 3) wear clothing with easy access to upper arm where vaccine will be administered.

Once you pull up to the site at the Fairgrounds, you will stay in your car to get the shot.

The news release adds:

If you pre-registered and you are under the age of 70, please note you are NOT eligible to receive the vaccine for COVID-19 at this time.  Please do not come to the Fairgrounds until your age has been announced as being eligible to receive the vaccine per CDC and LDH guidelines.

This vaccine clinic will open Tuesday from 8am-4pm and will be open each weekday during those same hours.
