Construction Underway on Public Shreveport Charter School

The first new public school to be built in Caddo Parish in more than two decades is under construction along the Clyde Fant Parkway.  The Shreveport Charter Foundation -- with the support of the Caddo School System -- has teamed up with Charter Schools USA to build and manage the Magnolia School of Excellence.  CSUSA manages 48 schools in five states and has a sound reputation for success.  Since Magnolia will be a public charter school, there will be no tuition.  Applications are currently being accepted online (at magnoliacharter.org) and will be until March 15th.  Plans are for the school to be open in August.
