The little boy critically hurt as the State Fair earlier this month has been released from the LSU Hospital.

No details have been released about where four-year-old SJ Lewis has been taken after his release.  KSLA is reporting that doctors performed a tracheotomy on on the youngster on Monday shortly before his release so he could eventually be taken off of a ventilator.  The youngster has been in critical condition and getting nourishment from a feeding tube.

The child was hurt when his daycare group from the Coushatta area visited the fair and one of his classmates restarted a ride just as S. J. and others were getting off of the ride.  SJ fell under the ride and had to be extricated by emergency personnel.  KEEL news was informed that the little boy would need extended treatment at a rehab facility, but the location has not yet been released.
