Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into a domestic abuse incident involving a juvenile after being called by officials at a local High School.

School personnel contacted CPSO after the student told school staff she had been physically assaulted earlier that morning at her home. The juvenile told Deputies her guardian caused injuries to her upper body during an altercation.

Detectives interviewed school staff and worked with the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services. The juvenile was taken to the Gingerbread House Children's Advocacy Center in Shreveport for an interview, during which she provided a detailed account of the incident and other information regarding a prior unreported event.

46 year-old Yataaka Shine, was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Battery and transported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where she was booked in on the aforementioned charge.

From CPSO:

"This case underscores the importance of timely reporting and highlights the collaborative efforts of school officials, child protection services, and law enforcement to ensure the safety and well-being of our juveniles."
