Caddo Deputies Arrest Man for Sex Crimes involving a Juvenile

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Special Victim's Unit have arrested a man suspected of sex crimes involving a juvenile.

Yesterday, Caddo Deputies started an investigation regarding allegations of sexual assault of a juvenile victim. The Special Victim's Unit was put on the case and they interviewed 45 year-old Darrell Cotton.

After Cotton's interview, Detectives determined that there was enough evidence to arrest him. Cotton has been charged with one count of Third-Degree Rape.

In Louisiana Third-Degree Rape involves sexual intercourse without consent due to the victim's incapacitation by an intoxicating agent, unsound mind, or a deceptive trick by the offender.

From CPSO:

"Cotton was subsequently taken to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on the aforementioned charge. The investigation is ongoing."
