Caddo Deputies Arrest Texas Man for Sex Crimes Against Juveniles

A man from DeBerry, Texas, has been arrested and charged with sex crimes against juveniles.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office's Special Victims Unit launched an investigation after allegations of sexual abuse was brought forward by two victims. The victims, now adults, claimed that the abuse happened while they were between the ages of 13 and 14. The offender has been identified as 67 year-old Walter Jeff Shadoin.

During CPSO's investigation, both victims reported grooming and sex abuse involving Shadoin. The victims claim he abused his position as a family friend and mentor in order to isolate them and have conversations about sex with the them on several occasions. These incidents took place between 2007 and 2010.

Detectives contacted Shadoin for an interview which led to important findings in the investigation. Shadoin has been charged with two counts of sexual battery, two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, and one count of misdemeanor sexual battery.

"The case was submitted to the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office, which approved a warrant for Shadoin's arrest. Judge Donald Hathaway signed the warrant. Shadoin surrendered to the Caddo Correctional Center on October 22, where he was booked on the aforementioned charges.
