Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office Warns That Phone Scam is Back
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is warning people about a phone-scam that has, once again been making the rounds!
CPSO reports that the scammers are impersonating Lt. Breck Scott. The calls have been recorded as coming from 704-386-3884 and 318-373-8567. While the caller has you on the line, he'll start demanding money saying they have a warrant out for your arrest. CPSO has made it very clear in the past that they WILL NOT call and demand money over the phone, gift cards, or ask for payment by mail.
These scammers are very active and have already claimed several victims in the area. CPSO urges the public to hang up immediately if you get a call like this. Do not make payments of any kind or provide any personal information to these scammers.
From CPSO:
"If you think you might have an outstanding warrant for your arrest in Caddo Parish, you can check our website. Simply scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Active Warrants." Enter your name to see if there are any warrants against you. Alternatively, you can call our warrants division at 318-681-0670 for assistance."
