Man Sentenced to Life in Prison For Murder in Caddo Court

A man from Dallas Texas has been sentenced to life in prison for a 2022 Shreveport murder.

Back in 2022, 30 year-old Noel Deon Garner walked inside the Shell Station on West 70th Street where 25 year-old Jermond Houston was checking out. Garner approached Houston inside the store, pulled a 9mm handgun with an extended clip out of Houston's right pocket.

Houston, after he realized what happened, tried to run out of the store, but garner opened fire. Houston was struck in the back by the gunfire, and hit the ground. Garner continued shooting Houston, and by the end of the chaos, Houston had been shot 26 times.

Garner, after accidentally shooting himself in the foot, ran to his car and took off.

Garner was convicted back in April, and yesterday he was sentenced to serve life in prison without possibility of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
