Home Invasion and Sexual Assault Leads to Arrest in Caddo Parish

Caddo Parish 911 got a frantic call yesterday from a woman in Bethany saying that someone was trying to break in to her house.

The 911 dispatcher could hear the whole horrifying incident, and sent Caddo Deputies to the Lake Lane home in a hurry. The man identified as 29 year-old Joshlyn S. Hawkins was eventually able to break in to the home. He threw the woman to the ground and began sexually assaulting her.

CPSO showed up to the scene and were able to hear screaming before they even got in the house. Deputies were able to quickly get in to the house and grabbed Hawkins and put him in cuffs. The entire horrible incident was recorded on the 911 call.

After Hawkins was arrested he admitted to the break-in and sexual assault. After Hawkins was interviewed, he was taken to Caddo Correctional Center, and was booked on charges of one count of first-degree rape, one count of home invasion, and a probation fugitive warrant.
