The Caddo Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit is investigating a hit and run crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

The crash happened at around 1AM Saturday in the 2600 block of E. 70th Street.

Deputies say 26-year-old Brandon Nichols of Shreveport was walking in the inside lane of E. 70th, when he was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene. Nichols was found in the grass near the road. He was taken to University Health with severe injuries.

Evidence found at the scene indicates the vehicle involved was a 2007 to 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The vehicle would have moderate damage to the front bumper, hood and passenger's side headlight.
