Victim of National Night Out Shooting Named by Caddo Coroner

A Shreveport teen shot and killed at A.B. Palmer Park during National Night Out has been identified by the Caddo Coroner.

Shots rang out at the park around 7:30pm while a large crowd was gathered celebrating the evening. After the shooting stopped and SPD got to the scene, they found 17 year-old Martaevion Loston suffering from a gunshot wound.

Loston was rushed to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

This shooting marks the 31st homicide to date in Shreveport and the 36th in Caddo Parish.

The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with any information regarding this case should call Shreveport Police Department or Caddo Crime Stoppers.
