Caddo Correctional Center Booking Photos October 11th-17th

This week, 66 people were booked and kept in the Caddo Correctional Center for various crimes.

One of those was arrested for a mass shooting that took place in September.

Shreveport Police have been on the hunt for a suspect wanted in connection to a mass shooting that left two dead and six others wounded back in September.

Just after 2am at a gathering on Poland Avenue, SPD was called out to reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found eight people suffering from gunshot wounds. Two of the eight were pronounced dead at the scene.

SPD Detectives worked quickly to interview witnesses and victims and were able to identify Rasson Smith Jr. and Rasson Smith Sr. as suspects in the shooting. Rasson Smith Sr. was arrested shortly after the mass shooting, but Smith Jr. proved to be harder to catch up to.

After a nearly month-long search for Smith Jr. he was arrested yesterday by Shreveport Police along with the help of U.S. Marshals Task Force, ATF Task Force, the Shreveport Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SLIU), and the K-9 Unit.

Smith Jr. was taken in to Shreveport City Jail, and following an interview was charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder.

All those pictured are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
