This week, 75 people were booked and kept at the Caddo Correctional Center for various crimes.

One of those booked was arrested following a standoff with Police at Alpha Mobile Home Park.

Shreveport Police Department responded to a reported disturbance in the Flournoy Lucas Road at the Alpha Mobile Home Park.

When SPD got to the mobile home park, they learned from witnesses that a male suspect had shot a gun at his mother before barricading himself inside a trailer. Due to the threat and the populated nature of the mobile home park Officers quickly secured the area.

The Shreveport Police Department’s Special Response Team (SRT) and Crisis Negotiations Team responded to the scene. Through negotiations, the suspect ultimately surrendered.

The suspect was identified as Garyen Boyd, and has been charged with:

· Domestic Abuse Battery by Strangulation

· Illegal Use of a Weapon

No additional injuries were reported.

From SPD:

"This incident highlights the serious and dangerous nature of domestic violence situations, particularly when firearms are involved. The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to responding swiftly and effectively to protect victims and the community.

The investigation remains ongoing. Additional charges may be forthcoming."
