Caddo Correctional Center Booking Photos December 28th-January 3rd

This week some of us rang in the new year with fun and celebration. But, some folks here in Shreveport brought 2025 in behind bars at Caddo Correctional Center.

One of those housed in CCC through the new year was locked up after a lengthy search.

The Shreveport Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit has arrested 20-year-old Cannon Link, who was wanted for a warrant related to a sexual battery case involving a 15-year-old juvenile victim.

The case was initiated on December 3, 2024, when detectives received a report of sexual assault. During a forensic interview at the Gingerbread House, the victim disclosed that she was under the influence of alcohol, provided by Cannon Link, when the assault occurred. Detectives gathered additional evidence, including text messages, to support the investigation.

December 26, 2024, a warrant for one count of Sexual Battery was issued and signed by the Honorable Judge Mosley. The Shreveport Police Department is actively working to locate Cannon Link.

The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to ensuring justice for victims of sexual crimes and holding perpetrators accountable.

Another one who was locked up when the ball dropped was behind bars for felony gun possession.

On December 27, 2024, just after 7:30 PM, Shreveport Police Department (SPD) officers conducted a stop on a suspicious individual wearing a mask in the 4200 block of Lakeshore Drive.

During the investigation, officers discovered that the individual, identified as Kenneth Mitchell, was armed with a firearm. Further inquiry revealed that Mitchell is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a 2020 conviction for accessory after the fact to attempted first-degree murder.

Mitchell was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on a charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Chief Wayne Smith commended the proactive efforts of the officers involved, stating, "This arrest highlights the importance of vigilance and proactive policing in ensuring the safety of our community."
