A Shreveport man has turned himself in to Caddo Correctional Center because of warrants for a terrible crime.

54-year-old Kyle Baird turned himself in following an investigation that determined there was enough evidence for CPSO to issue a warrant. Baird is accused of having inappropriate contact with a child that he was somehow connected to for a long time.

After learning of the warrant Baird went straight to CCC to turn himself in to booked directly.

From Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office:

"Baird turned himself in at the Caddo Correctional Center under the warrant and was booked on charges of first-degree rape, sexual battery, and indecent behavior with juveniles. A bond has not been set at this time."

Another person booked in to CCC was arrested after SPD found animals and an infirmed person living in a house of horrors.

Shreveport Police were called to house on Len Court on January 3rd, 2025 due to a welfare concern involving an elderly woman and animals. When the Officer arrived at the home it was immediately clear that there were some major issues.

All the notes in the Officer's report pointed to some very serious health risks including animal feces, and insect infestations. This information was enough to start a full-scale investigation that ended on Friday (2/7/25).

Police came to the house and removed Miranda McGee from the home, while they conducted a search. What SPD found, was nothing short of a house of horrors. Reports say that Police found three dogs in terrible shape due to neglect, and a fourth dog was tragically found dead in what SPD called "a foul-smelling, feces-ridden back bedroom". Presumably no information was given on the condition of the elderly infirmed woman to protect the dignity and privacy of the innocent.

After discovering the horrific condition of the home, Miranda McGee was arrested on charges of Cruelty to Animals, and Cruelty to the Infirmed.

Statement form SPD:

"This case underscores the Shreveport Police Department's commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals and ensuring the welfare of all members of our community, including animals."
