Caddo Correctional Center Booking Photos for Christmas Week

This week 45 people were booked and kept at Caddo Correctional Center for various crimes.

One of those booked on Christmas day ran from police.

On Christmas Day, just after 8:00 PM, Shreveport Police officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Grove Avenue and Greenwood Road. The vehicle's driver refused to stop, initiating a pursuit that led officers through various parts of the city.

During the chase, officers discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen. The pursuit ended at the intersection of Sumner Street and San Jacinto Avenue when the suspect's vehicle crashed. The vehicle overturned, striking a gas line and several street signs in the process. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.

The driver, identified as Srderrick Wilson, was taken into custody and now faces numerous charges, including:

· Illegal Possession of Stolen Things (for operating the stolen vehicle),

· Flight from an Officer,

· Possession of Schedule II Narcotics,

· Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and

· Illegal Carrying of Weapons.

This incident underscores the dedication of Shreveport Police officers to ensure public safety, even on holidays.

Another featured inmate was arrested for assault and drugs.

On December 24, 2024, at approximately 10:51 AM, Shreveport Police officers responded to a call regarding an armed person at 3401 Mertis Avenue. Shreveport Police Communications informed officers that the suspect had reportedly pointed a firearm at the victim before entering a residence.

Additionally, the suspect was described as waving what the victim identified as a "large gun" while walking outside the apartment at approximately 10:53 AM. At approximately 10:57 AM, Shreveport Police Communications advised that the suspect was on foot, heading northbound on Exposition Street. Upon arrival in the 3300 block of Exposition Street, officers observed a Black male matching the provided description walking northbound. Officers exited their marked patrol unit and successfully took the suspect into custody.

The suspect, identified as Joshua Kentrell Ashley, was found to be in possession of a black handgun with an extended magazine and a tan flashlight, which was located on the ground in front of him. Further investigation revealed that Ashley was also in possession of a significant quantity of narcotics.

Ashley was arrested and faces multiple charges, including:

· Aggravated Assault with a Firearm,

· Illegal Carrying of a Weapon, and

· Distribution of Narcotics.

This arrest highlights the Shreveport Police Department’s commitment to swiftly addressing threats to public safety.
