The Bossier City Police Department and one of its patrol officers have been honored for their efforts last year in enforcing Louisiana's Drunk Driving laws.

The awards were presented during the annual Louisiana Highway Safety Commission's DWI Enforcement Award Program Ceremony held this week in Baton Rouge.

Officer Steven Jones has been recognized for making 40 DWI arrests in 2013.  The Bossier City Police Department, as a whole, has been recognized for tallying the highest number of DWI arrests by a municipal police department based on jurisdictional population.  In 2013, Bossier police made a total of 255 DWI arrests.
