The Bossier City Police Department conducted a safety and vehicle insurance compliance checkpoint over the weekend. It was held between 7 and 10 Saturday morning in the 400 block of Hamilton Road. Officers checked a total of 355 vehicles and issued seven citations to motorists for no insurance and impounded six vehicles. They also wrote 10 tickets for no seat belt, two to people who didn't have children in proper safety restraints, and 30 for other various violations. One driver was also arrested for having an outstanding warrant from Bossier City for failure to appear on a window tint violation -- and for having a fugitive warrant out of Shreveport regarding a loud music charge.
