Bossier police and fire personnel were called to the train tracks that run between the Horseshoe Casino and the Louisiana Boardwalk at around 1 o'clock this morning to a report of an accident involving a train and a pedestrian.

According to its engineer, the KCS train was traveling westbound, when a man -- later identified as 52-year-old Kenneth Ray Thomas of Bossier City, stepped into the side of the lead engine while attempting to cross the tracks. The train was traveling about 10 miles an hour at the time.
