Bossier City Man Charged With Animal Cruelty
A Bossier City man faces animal cruelty charges -- after dead dogs were found in his backyard. Police say they were called to a home in the 1400 block of Teekell Street after a neighbor noticed two dead dogs in the backyard. Officers found both dogs tied to the end of chains, lying in the sun without food or water around. They also found two other unrestrained dogs without food or water. According to the National Weather Service, the temperature in Bossier City at the time was 100 degrees. A Bossier City Animal Control officer recovered the dead dogs and took custody of the two live ones. No one was home at the time, so a note was left informing the homeowner about where the dogs were. 28-year-old Alvin Ray Jones was arrested after he showed up to retrieve the animals. He was charged with four counts of animal cruelty...and one count of marijuana possession.
