Boat Launches on Cross Lake Temporarily Closed

The Shreveport Cross Lake Patrol has temporarily closed all publicly-operated boat launches and suspended boat and other water craft traffic on Cross Lake.

The rising water has made boat launches inaccessible. If you want to fish along the banks of the lake, you can; however, officials recommend you use caution, since the banks may give way to standing water.

With additional rain in the forecast, authorities expect lake levels to continue to rise. Cross Lake Patrol officers will be monitoring the lake for people who choose to violate the closed status. There's no projected date on re-opening the lake.
