More big bucks for Centenary College. A $500,000 Community Oriented Policing Technology grant from the U.S. Justice Department is being utilized to upgrade and modernize access to residence halls across campus. A statement from the college says the grant will enable the college to replace traditional door locks and keys at residence halls with a more sophisticated access control system, or "swipe card." The new system will be installed over the summer and fall, and be fully functional in time for the spring 2012 semester.
