Bassmaster Central Open is This Week on Red River
If you've noticed all the big, beautifully wrapped bass boats roaming around our neck of the woods here over the last week or so, you might have wondered just exactly what was going on.
The BASS "Bassmaster Central Open" is slated for this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 14-16 on Red River!
This is the third stop of the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Central Opens and the stakes are high for this one! According to bassmaster.com:
Overall winners from the boater and co-angler divisions advance to the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens Championship at a site and dates to be announced later. Invitations for the pros to the 2019 Bassmaster Elite Series and the 2019 Bassmaster Classic presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods will be determined this fall at the championship.
That makes qualifying for the Opens Championship the goal at the Red River. Joining the winners will be the Top 10 pros and co-anglers from the Central Division point standings, following the final event in September on Logan Martin Lake, Alabama. The Top 10 finishers in the Eastern Division, along with the winners of those four tournaments, also will qualify for the championship.
Anglers can fish in pools 3, 4 and 5, which comprises an area from Natchitoches to north of Shreveport.
The public is invited to all launch and weigh in activities. Take off will be at 6:00 a, each day at Red River South Marina. Weigh-ins will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday and Friday at Red River South Marina BUT the final weigh in on Saturday, June 16, will begin at 3:00 pm at Bass Pro Shops in Bossier City.
