Family Dollar Assault Suspect Bites Shreveport Officer
On Tuesday, Shreveport Police were called out to the Family Dollar on Line Avenue to a reported assault.
The employee that called told dispatchers that a man in the store had been threatening staff. The staff told the man to leave several times, but the man started throwing things at staff and threatened all of them on his way out of the store.
After Police got a name and description from store employees who knew him due to other incidents inside the store SPD started their search. Police found Alonzo Adams not far from the store and attempted to detain him.
When Police tried to cuff Adams, he started fighting Officers. Adams was able to drag one Officer to the ground, and bit him on the leg. Another Officer was kicked in the chest by Adams during the scramble. With the help of several SPD Officers, Adams was finally gotten under control and he was arrested.
Adams was booked on several charges including multiple counts of resisting an officer with force or violence and battery on a police officer. Charges related to the original incident at Family Dollar are pending.
No serious injuries were reported, and the officers involved are expected to make a full recovery.
