On Thursday, the Shreveport Fire Department got a 911 call reporting smoke coming from the top of the now vacant, Arlington Hotel on Crockett Street.

Firefighters arrived on-scene, and were able to locate the fire on the 3rd floor. The fire was put out, and investigators with the Fire Prevention Bureau responded to investigate.

After going through the evidence, investigators determined the fire was intentionally set. Investigators were also able to arrest 35 year-old Tremayne Davis on-scene for one count of Simple Arson.

According to the revised arson statute, “Whoever commits the crime of simple arson, where the damage done amounts to five hundred dollars or more, shall be fined not more than fifteen thousand dollars and imprisoned at hard labor for not more than fifteen years.

Where the damage is less than five hundred dollars, the offender shall be fined not more than twenty-five hundred dollars or imprisoned with or without hard labor for not more than five years, or both.”

The building was confirmed to have no utility services and damage from the fire was contained to a portion of the 3rd floor. No injuries were reported.
