Four Arrested After Greenwood Officers Get Exposed to Fentanyl

On Easter morning, Greenwood Police made a traffic stop on a car with no license plate.

Officers noticed during the stop that the four people in the car were doing a lot of shifting around. GPD found out that two of the people in the car had warrants out for their arrest. While Officers were dealing with that, Police say the driver tried to get rid of a baggie full of a white powder substance. When Police recovered that baggie they searched the car, they found several empty bags with white residue with straws and some Fentanyl test strips.

All four of the people in the car were arrested and taken to the Greenwood Police station. When Officers got to the station, one Officer started feeling sick. All of the Officer's symptoms pointed to Fentanyl exposure. Two of the other arresting Officers also started feeling sick, and all three were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Officers have since been released from the hospital and are home resting.

Fentanyl is a very dangerous drug. It is an opioid that is much stronger than heroin to the point that you can overdose just by coming in skin-contact with the drug.

The four were arrested on the following charges:

Bobby Wayne Davis: Possession of schedule ii, possession drug paraphernalia, In state fugitive

Jackson Troy Strickland: Possession of schedule ii, possession drug paraphernalia, In state fugitive

Eric Ross Mainous: Possession of schedule ii, Prohibited acts-use/possession drug paraphernalia

Briauna Lashea Vance: Possession of schedule ii, Prohibited acts-use/possession drug paraphernalia

From Greenwood Police:

"All four suspects were transported to Caddo Correctional Center where they were booked on charges of Possession of Schedule 2 Controlled Dangerous Substances and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The two with outstanding warrants were also booked on the warrants."
