Police detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect they believe shot a local man during an attempted robbery earlier this month in west Shreveport.

Investigators procured a warrant yesterday afternoon charging 18-year-old LaDarien Walpool, of the 7200 block of Bernstein Avenue in Shreveport, with one count of attempted second degree murder in connection with the shooting of 22 year old Alex Anderson back on May 11, 2012 in the 600 block of West 72nd Street. Anderson, who was shot once in the chest, was subsequently transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department and is currently recovering from his injuries.

Detectives believe Walpool attempted to rob Anderson and, when the victim refused to comply, shot him. Walpool’s bond has been set at $150,000. Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of LaDarien Walpool is urged to call Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
