Police Arrest Bossier Parish Man After Plain Dealing Homicide
Bossier Sheriff’s Office and Plain Dealing Police Department are investigating Fatal Shooting Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives and the Plain Dealing Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred within the town limits of Plain Dealing.
The incident took place just before midnight on Sunday in the 100 block of South Louisiana Street. According to preliminary reports, the individuals involved in the incident have been identified as Ronnie L. Bryant (suspect) and Melissa Powell (victim).
It has been determined that Bryant shot Powell in the neck during a domestic altercation while in a car. After the shooting, Bryant contacted a Plain Dealing police officer and requested help for Powell. Powell was transported to Ochsner Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives were contacted to assist the Plain Dealing Police Department with the investigation.
After an interview by detectives, Ronnie L. Bryant was arrested for one count of Second Degree Murder and booked into the Bossier Max. Bond in this case has been set at $500,000.
