SHREVEPORT, LA. Armed Felon Flees from Police, Arrested by SPD K9

On July 21, Shreveport police officers observed a Honda Accord traveling on Line Avenue with a canceled license plate. As officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated and fled. During the pursuit, the vehicle left the roadway and wrecked before finally coming to a stop at Kingston Road and Elmview Place.

The driver, later captured with the assistance of Shreveport Police K9 EDY, was identified as 29-year-old Alton Washington. Washington has been arrested for a slew of charges, including aggravated flight from a police officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, resisting an officer, and numerous traffic offenses.

Luckily, no one was seriously injured in this event. Washington was treated for injuries sustained during the incident.
