Ark-La-Tex Players Preparing For 2023 NFL Championship Weekend
This weekend is one of the biggest weekends of the NFL season. It's Conference Championship weekend, the Final 4 of the NFL season. We know that football is king in our country, so this is a big deal from coast-to-coast. But its an even bigger deal in the Ark-La-Tex when you look at how many players from our area are still alive in the playoffs.
Trent Taylor (Shreveport) - Cincinnati Bengals
Trent Taylor continues to be a main part of the Bengals Special Teams. He has been their main punt return weapon, while also returning kicks, and catching some passes too. He has been returning punts for the Bengals in the playoffs.
L'Jarius Sneed (Minden) - Kansas City Chiefs
Sneed is a starting at defensive back for the Chiefs, and just keeps getting better on the field. He started 17 games during the regular season for KC, with over 100 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 3 forced fumbles.
Trent Williams (Longview) - San Francisco 49ers
Big Trent Williams is one of the top offensive lineman in the NFL. He's been a big part of the 49ers success this year, especially considering how many injuries the 49ers have dealt with this year. While players have been going down to injury, the offense keeps rolling.
Patrick Mahomes (Whitehouse, TX) - Kansas City Chiefs
Even though he's dealing with a very painful high ankle sprain, Patrick Mahomes is still one of the scariest players for a defense to face. We're not sure what he's going to look like out there, but we're pretty sure he's going to play no matter what.
Brandon Wilson (Shreveport) - Cincinnati Bengals
Wilson is injured and won't be playing this weekend, but his veteran leadership will be felt by his teammates.
HONORABLE MENTION - Joe Burrow (Louisiana, adopted) - Cincinnati Bengals
Get out of here ohio (no, I don't capitalize that 'state' on purpose), Joe Burrow became an official Louisiana resident when he had the greatest college football season ever for LSU. He's considered a citizen of every city across the whole state of Louisiana.
