One of the latest two shooting incidents in Shreveport involves a group of teenagers who were trying to sell a handgun.

Police say just before 10:00 last night, officers were called to a shooting in the 200 block of East Washington Street. They found two juvenile males, ages 16 and 17, suffering from gunshot wounds to the lower body. They were taken to University Health with non-life-threatening wounds.

Investigators say the two teens were at a home in the 200 block of East Washington Street, when an apparent dispute broke out between them. It's believed the 16-year-old opened fire on the 17-year-old, then the 16-year-old was shot during a struggle over the gun.

Both teens were among a group of other teens who had met to negotiate the sale of the handgun, but they all ran off before police arrived. Officers are still looking for them so they can bring them in for questioning.

During a search of the home, investigators found eight suspected marijuana plants growing in the backyard. The 16-year-old was linked to that growing operation. That teen is charged with aggravated battery and manufacture of marijuana. The 17-year-old hasn't been charged, but the investigation continues.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
