8 Year-Old Drives Dad’s Truck While Pop Sleeps

A Mississippi man is in a heap of trouble today for getting so drunk that he told his 8-year-old son to get behind the wheel of the pickup.

Louisiana State Police say the little boy was driving so erratically that other drivers began calling 911.  The dad was passed out drunk in the passenger seat when troopers finally got the boy to pull over in Livingston Parish. The man's 4-year-old daughter was in the back seat .  28 year old  Billy Joe Madden, of Hattiesburg, Miss., was booked on charges of child desertion and allowing a minor to drive. The children were turned over to Child Protective Services.
