Shreveport, Louisiana is hot spot for football stars. Seriously. Just look around. Historically, you have legends like Terry Bradshaw and Tommy Davis. In the modern era, you have guys like Tre White and Donovan Wilson. I mean the list is nearly endless - just look at it. And it makes sense, according to this study, Louisiana produces more pro athletes than any other state. And I'd imagine if you went city by city, Shreveport has to be at or near the top of the list.

I say all that to say this: Louisiana (and Shreveport in particular) produce a LOT of athletes that play their respective sports at an extremely high level. And, it looks like that tradition is going to continue with latest crop of football prospects.

With football season kicking off for High School, College and the Pros, a lot of guys are getting a lot of attention in the national media. In fact, High School Sports on Sports Illustrated, just published a list of the 'Top 2025 Louisiana High School Football Recruits'.

This list looks at all the stars around the state who are being highly recruited by major colleges and have the potential to be impact pro players in a few years. And, given our history of producing NFL stars, it should be no surprise that 3 locals cracked the Top 10 prospect list according to Sports Illustrated.

The list features two studs from Calvary Baptist Academy and one players from Parkway:

  • #2: Devin Harper - 4 star Recruit from Calvary Baptist. Committed to LSU.
  • #6 James Simon - 4 Star Recruit from Calvary Baptist. Committed to Texas
  • #9 Devon Oliver - 3 Star Recruit from Parkway. Currently uncommitted by SMU is currently the favorite to sign him.
