With less that 40 percent of eligible voters casting ballots in this year’s state primaries and downward voting trends plaguing the past 50 years, the leading personal finance social network WalletHub conducted an in-depth analysis of the USA's 'Most and Least Politically Engaged States.'

In order to find the most and least involved Americans, the survey analyzed each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia across six key categories. They range from the percentage of registered voters in the to the total political contributions per adult population.
